Embarrasing Bodies: Your Body Is Important, Not Something To Be Embarrased By

Almost everyone has some sort of anxiety when it comes to their body. There are entire industries entirely built around profiting from those very feelings of embarrassment and shame. But this can have some serious ramifications on people’s lives. It can create an unhealthy relationship with both your body and your health. It doesn’t get talked about as much, but this is definitely a problem for men as much as it is for women. The media would have most guys believe that they need to look a certain way and that anything other that perfect means that there’s something wrong with them. This is obviously completely ridiculous, but the issue with being surrounded by that kind of the thing is that it can get inside your head and affect how you feel whether you like it or not. This leads to plenty of men being ashamed of things to do with their body, which in turn can stop them from getting the right kind of help that they need. With that in mind, here are some aspects of your body that you should neither be ashamed of or neglect.

 

Weight loss/weight gain

This is probably the most common thing that advertisers use to make people feel terrible about themselves. It affects just about everyone on the planet. Ask anyone, and they’ll tell you that they’re either too fat, too thin, too muscular or not muscular enough. The major issue with that is it leads to people going to dangerous lengths to change their appearance. Of course, choosing to change your diet and lifestyle based on your weight isn’t an inherently bad thing. But it’s something that you should always approach from a sensible direction that takes your health into account as much as possible. If you want to build muscle, then it’s important to do so gradually and not to try and pile on as much mass as possible. A lot of people are so embarrassed by their bodies that they don’t want to talk to anyone about it. But you should talk to a dietician or a personal trainer before embarking on any significant lifestyle changes. These people are professionals, and they are trained to help you get into shape in safe and healthy ways.

 

 

Hair loss

The stereotype is that hair loss only affects men over a certain age but in reality, it can affect adult men of any age. Because of this stereotype, it can be incredibly embarrassing for a lot of younger men. It comes with along with the ideas that men who suffer from hair loss are somehow less desirable than other men. This kind of stigma can lead to men ending up turning to solutions that actually make the problem far worse! Spray on hair, cheap hairpieces and (God forbid) the dreaded combover, are all things that many men are rather tempted to try but can actually end up drawing far more attention to the hair loss than if you hadn’t done anything at all. There are things you can do, of course, finasteride tablets are used for hair loss and have been shown to make a genuine difference to a lot of men. But the best thing that you can do is just to accept it and try to deal with it gracefully. Go for shorter hairstyles that work better with the hair that you have left. The best person to talk to is your barber, they will be able to suggest actually what to do to help you keep looking stylish. Besides, if you can keep your confidence up then that’s going to be far more attractive than if you try to cover up any hair loss.

 

 

A lack of stamina

This might be the number one concern for the vast majority of men. The inability to perform in the bedroom is enough to cause a lot of men to go into a state of sheer panic. After all, no one wants to disappoint their partner, and the world is so heavily built around being a “real man” that it can be incredibly difficult if you’re having that sort of problem. There are of course some remedies that you can take, but not all of them are guaranteed to work. The best thing that you can do is to communicate with your partner and to relax. Being tense and worried is only ever going to make your problem worse. Being able to discuss it with your partner is a great way to set your mind at ease.
