Now is the time to evaluate your lifestyle and determine if you need to change anything. Just don’t let cycling take over your life because it can end up having an adverse effect on your lifestyle. Remember – the key is to be successful, not obsessive.

Stick to an achievable fitness regime

Being a keen cyclist is one thing. But if you run out of steam after just one mile, you need to improve your fitness first. That means coming up with an actionable diet and exercise regime. I recommend using technology to help you out here.

For instance, if you’ve got an iPhone, you could use a calorie counting app like MyFitnessPal . It also allows you to log your weight so you can keep track of your weight loss. And you can even keep a diary of your daily food intake. That way, you can train your mind not to eat things that are bad for you!
