Are You Due A Hairstyle Update?

Have you been wearing your hair the same way for longer than you can remember? It’s easy to get into a rut with these things; you find a style you like and before you know it, years have passed. But if it’s been some time since you addressed your style, it might well be time for an update. As we age and our hair changes, and different styles become popular. Stepping out of your comfort zone and trying something new can be a refreshing way to update your look.

Has Your Hair Changed?

Male pattern baldness affects over two-thirds of men. By the age of thirty-five, most will have experienced some degree of hair loss. When you start to lose your hair, your first thought might be to try and keep hold of what you do have left. You may feel like wearing it slightly longer to retain a more youthful look. But actually this can have the opposite effect, some hairstyles just don’t work with hair loss. The good news is that there’s plenty that do, and so updating your cut can give you a much more flattering look. As we age and grey hair becomes more prominent, it can also change the texture of our hair. This means that some styles that previously looked good might no longer work. If you struggle to get your hair to play ball with styles that it once went into with no hassle, this could be why. Embrace your new hair texture and go with a cut and style that works better for you.

Does Your Style Look Dated?

If you’ve had your hair the same way for a long time, it may look dated and make you look older. Opting for a ‘classic’ style is good as it will never go out of fashion, or you could mix it up and go with something a bit more trendy. If you scour trending men’s haircuts online it will give you a good idea of the kinds of styles that are popular right now. This could give you a boost of confidence and make you feel great. And if it turns out that you’re not so keen on it, it will always grow back!

Have you Lost or Gained Any Weight?

If your weight has changed but your hair hasn’t, it might be time for an update. For example, a very slim face might look overwhelmed by a lot of hair. On the opposite end of the spectrum, very short hair may accentuate a fuller face if you have gained a few pounds. Because of this, a hairstyle that once suited you may no longer be doing you any favours. Work out what face shape you have, and based on that what kind of styles are most likely to suit you. A good haircut will look balanced, and take the proportions of your face into consideration as well as your style. You could always ask your barber if you’re not sure. If you can’t make it to the barbers, why not buy some clippers to give yourself a small trim in the meantime.

When was the last time you updated your haircut? Are you ready for a change?
